Carroll
Construction Company has been incorporated since
1982. We started out as a millwright company
working in the agriculture business, and in 1994
we were the leading sales company for Butler
Grain Systems. That year we were awarded
the second sale of the world's larges grain bin
- 105' X 81'.
In
1996 we added 2 additional 80 ton cranes to our
fleet of cranes, and started setting modular
homes on site. By the year 2000 we were
setting 380 homes a year. We also rough set
these homes which included roofing and siding
them.
In
2004 we sold our crane division and took a new
division called "Sterling Builders" -- which is
a division of Wausau Homes. These homes are
panelized which fit our expertise. We have
one small crane, that we kept when selling our
others, to set the homes, which will be "roughed
in" in two to three days. Our crews finish
each home.
The
property that North Rockford estates is located
on was owned by the Carroll family. The
Carroll family started raising strawberries 28
years ago up north in the town of Barryton,
Michigan. They raised 12 acres of irrigated
berries to be "U-pick" and "ready pick". They
eventually outgrew their farm and relocated to
where North Rockford Estates is located today.
There they grew over 20 acres of strawberries
and supplied most of the area with their berries
until 2002 when they sold the farm to the
Carroll Construction Company for the development
of the P.U.D.
